Today ... it's BARB!

Woohoo!   Today is the 5th of the month and if you've been to my Blog before you know that the 5th is the day we celebrate with our SCS Crafty Girls Blog Hop!    This month our Crafty Girl Inspiration is from Barb - {Barb's Inkin' into Retirement}.    Although I've never got to meet Barb (IRL),  I'm sure she would be a fun gal to hang out with as she's always busy with lots of neat projects and great stamping!   This is my card for Barb as she's a gal who uses lots of fun colors and layers.  She also seems to like Ribbon (well, who doesn't?).

If you want to see the rest of the SCS Crafty Girls "Inspired by Barb" Cards,  check out the blog roll on the right!

Inspired by Spring

...well, at least sunshine and 50 degree temps!  Haha!  Here in the Midwest we have to enjoy the sunshine when we can as tomorrow it could be snow.  Yup, on the weather radar for Sunday and Monday.   Not much longer now, hopefully,  just a few blasts of cold and then warmer temps.

Today I washed my car and I also took my dog Bella to the park for a walk, well, half jog.  Her little legs just fly.  I really have to scoot to keep up with her.  It's lots of fun though because she loves it.  It makes me love it too.

This card was inspired by this week's sketch at Pals Paper Arts #155.  I used bright colors for the Spring Challenge at Use It Tuesday #52 Challenge.  Believe it or not, these stamps have been sitting in my stash for over a year and I hadn't used them yet.  The pearls were also there as I wasn't sure what to do with strips.  This is also for the Twisted Tuesdays Challenge #46 to use Banners and pearls.    Very fun!

Wow...7 Days Later?

Hey Bloggin' Friends -- THANK YOU -- for stopping back by this week!  I can't believe it's been a whole week since I've posted?  Where did the time go.  I'm going to have to do better on that.   Well,  tonight I've completed this week's MOJO Monday #254 with some "blue" scraps I dug out for the Twisted Tuesday "feeling blue" challenge & the polka dots are for the Perfect Sentiment Challenge.   It wasn't all scraps because this is the first time I've had out the petite polka dot paper -- how CUTE!    We used the MOJO sketch as this week's CYAO inspiration over at Paper Secrets week #28.  It's all good and hopefully this week it won't take me so long to post again?!   Stay Inspired!

Smile!

:)   Big Smiles All Around here ... GRADUATION!   Now I know we were supposed to be making cards for "Vacation " Theme thanks to Barb's great inspiration for our Crafty Girls Blog Hop this month but I must say,  as a proud Mama,  my time and focus has been on details for Graduation and Grad Party ...    SO  with BIG SMILES,  I'm happy to say that My baby graduated and now this weekend it's time for us to head off to other Family Graduation (nephew- YAY!) and some Family fun time!   Woohoo for us!   That's a great vacation!

This card idea actually came from Got Sketch #107 for scrapbooking.   It's a GREAT way to use up scraps so if you're looking for an idea,  you'll want to book mark this one, LOL!   This worked perfectly for the challenge over at AMuse Studio Blog to focus on sentiments!   This one sums it up so nicely!

Now WHERE did that Post Go?

I swear I've typed all of this in before?!  I can't figure out though where the post went?   I just jumped on to check out our monthly Blog Hop w/ all my SCS Crafty Girl Sisters ... and couldn't find my post for yesterday.   :(   That's what I get for not checking.    Truthfully,  yesterday I spent in craft paradise as it was National Scrapbook Day and my family was sweet enough to let me have the whole day for nothing but scrapping and stamping.   It was JUST what my MOJO needed.

Well,  on to my Blog Hop Card!   The theme this month is "Celebrating Those Who Love Us".  I knew just the sentiment I wanted to use and it wasn't hard to find a GREAT Card Sketch as this week's Twisted Tuesday Challenge not only was a great challenge to include pearls but card sketch included!  Perfect!   I changed up the sketch slightly to use a diecut for the sentiment and of course all those LOVELY butterflies for Perfect Sentiments NSD Challenge hosted by Teresa.    I used the AMuse Studio butterfly diecut!  Fun! Fun!

Be sure to check out all of the other SCS Crafty Girl Blogs celebrating the one's we Love!

Spring Break!

Ok, so I have to admit,  I'm still on Spring Break!  It's actually "vacation" for me but it sounds good to say Spring Break, LOL!    This year for Spring Break we went away for a few days and came home to hang out for a few days as well.   Trying to save $$ for all the big graduation expenses that will soon be headed our way.  It's just as fun because we all have things we want to do at home.   Of course,  I want to stamp and scrap so that's just what I did this afternoon, completing several new card creations.

I started with this week's Card Pattern's Sketch #160.   I just happened to have some new - VERY CUTE - petite polka dot cards from AMuse Studio that were calling my name.   I decided to use the colors for The Paper Players Challenge #90.    This card also qualifies for the challenge over at Twisted Tuesday #2 because I didn't use roses.   These Bermuda Buttons are some of my favorite color ...  Thanks for stopping by to check it out.   Amazingly,  I just might have another card to upload to my blog this week!   Gotta love Spring Break.

You Make Me Happy

I was thinking something silly when I saw this sentiment - "you make my heart happy".   I was actually thinking how happy my stamping and scrapping goodies make me, LOL!   It's so refreshing for me to work on cards and scrap pages.  I got into this hobby actually with recommendation from a "Career Coach"!  Yup!  I met with her several times expecting this incredible career advice.  After several weeks, she said I was missing balance and needed a hobby.  I tried several different "hobbies" and happened on some friends who scrapbooked.   After a rough start (perfectionist tendicies) I settled in and started getting pages done.  After that I discovered stamping and the first few years I only made Christmas cards.  As you can see I've branched out, haha!  The rest as they say is history...good history!  I really enjoy all the cards I make and send.  Some weeks I'm better at getting them out in the mail than others.   This cute sketch is this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday 123-57.   Enjoy!   Supplies:  All A Muse Studio - Paper:  Orange Gingham, Grass Damask, Grass Shimmer;  Stamps:  beautiful botanicals 2, hand scripted;  Ink:  Papaya, Orange, Grass;  Butterfly Die,  SU! Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon, misc charms

Thank You!

This week I had the FABULOUS opportunity to go to an Event, "Amuse On The Road" in Akron, Ohio.  It was a delightful night of stamping and socializing and even more enjoyable, we got to meet Linda  (Owner) and Heather from Amuse Studios.    Of course, I got to also spend time with my favorite Crafty Couple - Samantha & Jeremy!   We had a GREAT time!   This is my "Thank You" Card for Linda :)  Of course, I can't wait for tomorrow - Amuse-A-Palooza so make sure to stop by my friend Samantha's Amuse Studio Blog for all the details.   For this card, out came my favorite stamps - "Just Because".   I also used this week's sketch from MOJO MONDAY #204  Supplies:  All Amuse Except Organdy Ribbon.   Amuse paper Bermuda Polka Dot, Kraft, Amuse Stamps Just Because, Hand Scripted, Ink Bermuda, Lime, Ocean, Amuse Meadow Mix Flowers, Amuse Twinkle

Yes, I'm Smiling!

I love Friday nights!  The work week is done, seems like everyone in my house has their favorite past time they like to go do and that leaves me free to stamp and scrap!   Tonight was no different and I was feeling inspired after a GREAT time at Amuse On the Road!   It was really neat to meet Linda, the owner.  Of course, the best part was spending time with my friends Samantha and Jeremy and I met some other nice ladies as well.   I didn't get to start making cards until late because I was scrapping but I wanted to get a card made to go out on Monday to my Secret Sister.  The sketch is from the sweetest thing "Sweet Sunday Sketch #130".   It worked perfectly also to use my Cricut for the main image as of course I had my CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge already at work for my scrap pages.   This cute paper is from jillibean soup - Blossom - it's all darling!  I love the butterflies!   Enjoy!  Supplies:  Paper Bazzill Frosted Teal, jilliben Blossom Soup, SU! Choc Chip,  Stamps CTMH From Me to You, Amuse Hand Scripted,  Ink CTMH Olive, SU! Choc Chip, Misc Sparkles, CTMH Cricut Cart Art Philosophy

You Are Special

This card was inspired by a GREAT time I had out to dinner with my friends, Samantha and Jeremy.  They're such good sports about letting me pick my favorite place to eat.  We had a good time visiting.  I'm posting this card today since it's the Amuse Blog Hop starting at Kania's A Muse Studio Blog.  Be sure to check it out this weekend for some fun giveaways and great cards.

I found this card sketch on SCS for Viva la Verve June Week #2.  It went just perfectly with all my new A|Muse stamping goodies.  When you're just starting out, having matching supplies is tricky.  This paper was shared with me by friends on the SCS Recycle thread and the stamps I just got not long ago.  Supplies:  All products A|Muse except for Rhinestones.  A|Muse Paper: Kraft, Shimmer Damask, Gingham, French Roast Dotted Organdy Ribbon, Nestability Ovals, A|Muse Stamps Beautiful Botanicals 2 and hand scripted

Life Beautiful

Well tonight just before ice cream and movies with JT, I found a couple card challenges I wanted to complete.   The sketch came from Sketch Saturday!  It's another cute one.  I like to play their weekly sketches because they usually have square cards and that's fun and different.   I also used the recipe challenge at Sugar Creek Weekly Challenge, this week called "3-2-1".   Idea was to use 3 designer or patterned papers, 2 diecuts and 1 charm.  That worked great for this card.   I was still playing with "Glubers" making Ribbon Flowers for the Design Delight make your own flowers challenge I finished earlier.  I wanted to use some of the BasicGrey "hello lucious" paper I splurged on and I brought back out the Amuse stamps for the sentiment.   Thanks to Angie from SCS Recyclers thread, I actually had a charm to add.  Supplies:  BasicGrey "hello lucious" paper, Amuse Hand Scripted and Just Because Stamps, Amuse Ink Bermuda, SU! Choc Chip CS and Ink, SU! Eyelet Border Punch, CTMH Green Assrtd Buttons, Organdy Breeze Ribbon & Mixed Bloom Flowers, Queen&Co Teal Blue Pearls, Misc Charm

Friday Night Fun!

Woohoo!  Something about time in my craft room on a Friday night!  Always a good way to start the weekend.  Tonight I found a couple fun card sketches to take advantage of.  The card on the left is for my boss who will no longer be my boss on June 1, boo!  She's wonderful and I wanted to be sure I took the time to send her a card and tell her how much I appreciated her.  The card sketch was from CPCM Tuesday Sketch Challenge #108.   I was inspired by the lace I received in a package from my SCS friend Angie.  It was just the perfect length to complete the 2 cards.  The stamps are from CTMH & Hero Arts.  The cards on the right are for a friend of mine whose fault it is lately that I'm hooked on Amuse (Hi Samantha!) and my Mom.  All paper, stamps and Ribbon - Amuse.   The card sketch is from Create with Connie & Mary   .  They are diehard SU! fans so my card didn't meet their requirements on the blog but I had saved the sketch to use.  Aren't those charms CUTE?!  My latest addition for cards - charms.  My friend Kari on SCS gifted me the large eyelets and they were just perfect for these.   Supplies:  (Card #1) Paper - The Paper Company Weave Aqua, BasicGrey "hello lucious", Stamps CTMH Blessed, Hero Arts, Queen & Co Pearls.  (Card #2) - Paper Amuse CS & Polka Dot,  Stamps Amuse Beautiful Botanicals 2, Hand Scripted,  Amuse Lime Organdy Dot Ribbon, Misc Charms & Punches
