3-2-1 --- Spring!

Oh Spring ... hurry up and get here, LOL!   I don't mind winter, well some snow around the holidays but let me tell you ... I'm ready for it to be gone in February!   I actually made this card in January when I was Spring Vacation planning.    I am counting the days for beach weather soon.

It's "Tax Day" so today's ABC Challenge is all about numbers ... as in countdown to FUN!   I hope you'll come spend some crafty time with us dreaming about spending your tax return on stamps... or not!  Use your stash and make a card.   Mine has 3 Washi Tape, 2 Butterflies/Sparkles & 1 Tag/Ribbon.   Remember I said I made this in January?  Well my sketch inspiration was from Retro Sketch #45.

Puppy Love

Aww, every time I look at these photos I want to squeeze on my little dog Bella.  She's such a fiesty little pooch.   We're not sure why but she absolutely ADORES my oldest son, Brandon.   She's thrilled when he comes home for visits from college.   She lays by his bedroom door in the mornings waiting for him to get up and follows him around the house every where constantly when he's home.   It's TRUE Puppy Love, LOL!

This sketch comes from Colorful Creations Challenge Week #1 - So You Think You Can Scrap.   Very fun!

Double Duty

Hello Wednesday!  Today I have two pictures to share with you because it's "Double Duty" time.  I made a commitment to myself that if I bought new paper at the Archivers sale,  I would leave it in the bag and if I didn't use it 20 days from purchase,  I would return it because I don't need more "Cute, On Sale" paper in my Stash!   The 2 adorable papers are from the Dear Lizzy line and I thought they were really cute.   I picked them up because of the Challenge at FTS this week to use "banners".   I also knew what pictures I wanted to scrap with
the paper, picts from a Crop.  We had a good time and I even remembered my camera for a couple photos while there.   Isn't it funny that we go to scrap and I don't seem to take picts of us at these fun events?   Crazy!  I had a great time. I had a few scraps left from the 2 sheets of paper I bought, (Gasp,  I know - 2!)  so I decided to use the scraps for some cards.  I saw this card idea on the Taylored Expressions site and knew it would work perfectly for the few scraps I had left.  How fun is that?!   I know these colors are kind of "spring" but it was the moment, and they were scraps!

Holiday -- I'm Missing You

Okay,  I admit ... I miss the holidays.   It was SO nice to have boys home from college and have time off work.  I loved having the time off to rest, relax and recharge.   I definitely found some creative MOJO!  That's good, use it while it's in house.

This week at ABC Challenges our challenge is CAS - Clean and Simple.   I sure struggled with this one, "white space" is hard for me.   Even Scrapping I'm not so good at CAS but that's what challenges are for --- to stretch your creative boundaries and this one did that for me.   My DH was funny,  he said,   "I like that one honey."   Wouldn't ya know,  he likes CAS,  LOL!

Happy Monday!   Be sure to stop over at ABC Challenge Blog and stretch your wings and play CAS.

Brrr ... It's Been Cold Here

Oh Yeah,  TGIF!   We have a saying at work,  "it's almost Friday" ... it seems to make everything more bearable and then when it really is Friday,  we feel like celebrating!  So for today, YAY!    I love this snowman stamp from Penny Black but there is only so many ways you can color it.  I sent cards out already this year using it and I made 2 of these for my [Friends That Scrap] 2+2 Card Partners.   Our theme was "Winter".   I'm not sure what I was saving this Basic Grey Paper for ... something ... but I had 1 piece left of Dasher paper and it's now cards!  Yay for using stash...so far it's Day #4 of our 100 by 100 and I'm keeping up.   I'm sure it will get more crazy at time goes on.

The sketch is from MOJO Monday #199 posted in July of last year.

Well,  It's a good day,  it's Friday,  YAY!   Enjoy the weekend.

Gorilla's -- Wild!

Fun -- fun!   I've actually scrapped some of my Cincinnati Zoo Gorilla pictures but these seemed just perfect for the Paper Secrets SYAO #33 sketch (pg 1).   Another week of crazy stuff to add for the challenge but it seemed to work for these pages -- feathers, bingo card, 7+ papers, chipboard letters altered and I used both technique challenges - stencil background and dry embossing.   These cute papers are from the BoBunny Zoology line.  I'm sure I'll use them up,  we go to lots of zoos!   I really like how the stencil background came out too!

Sharing for Sunday Night

#1 -- I love how this layout turned out but #2 much of the fun was in creating it.   I did a "Progressive Challenge" over at SB.Com.   Every 15 minutes the hostess gave us another list of items to choose from for our page.   My favorite part is the Button Tree.   My tree was cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and the stamps are "Bless this Nest" which I thought was cute for this page as it's my DS and GF at their new apartment.

Super Saturday Scrapping

Today was a fun stamp and scrap day.  I finished up some cards for the Unidentified Images Swap so I have those ready to mail.  I even got time to finish up some scrap pages.   This page was inspired by the sketch at Sketches in Thyme.    These are some Superbowl pictures.   During the Superbowl this year I scrapped challenges with my "Friends That Scrap".   I think I even got this football paper in a PIF swap there which was perfect!

"Ugly Paper" Challenge

This month over at Friends That Scrap we're having a challenge to use "UGLY" paper.   To make the challenge a little more difficult,  we chose the ugliest papers from our stash and sent them to another so the "UGLY" paper that we're using is from someone else's stash.   I was a little worried.   Bless my partner Mary's heart, she must have been doing a MUCH better job over the last few years selecting paper because the paper she sent me wasn't so bad ... actually it came together great for some Grad Cards I needed to get busy on.   The vellum on the card is the "UGLY" stuff she sent me,  the rest is Close To My Heart cardstock.   I started this card with this week's Card Patterns Sketch 164.  Of course I had to add a little to the sketch to get my sentiment on the card but inspiration is always welcome!

You Warm My Heart

Happy February 5!  Welcome to another round of the SCS Crafty Girls Blog Hop!   You won't want to miss this one as this month we're sharing LOTS of good ideas with our Recipes of Love theme.   My Valentine is for a Secret Sister &  I'm hoping shes' going to enjoy the warm & fuzzy MOJO this treat brings.  I put together a Hot Cocoa Set.   We both live in Midwest/Northeast so usually this time of year,  hot cocoa is a welcome sight as the snow and wind brings cold temperatures and ice.  Who wouldn't want to sip some warm chocolate and think Summer,  LOL!   I found the cutest little Cocoa jars at Marshalls,  bought "To Go" Cups with lids,  added marshmallows, spoons and mints and just for fun, cup holders I saved from my favorite Panera drinks.  I wrapped it all up in cute packaging and sent it hoping she has fun enjoying this Valentine Treat.

Be sure to check out that other SCS Crafty Gal Blogs for more Recipes of Love.

World Series ...

of Christmas Cards?  I can't believe how many different Christmas Cards I've done this year already!  Usually I just do 1 or 2 designs, pick one I like and make several to send out.   This year I have been trying different designs and haven't picked just one yet I think is "the" one.   By the time I decide,  I'll have so many variety I won't need more ... I'm probably close, LOL!  This card was inspired from this week's CardPatterns #138.  I think I'm going to try another and emboss the background?   IRL, the rhinestones are just the right sparkle.   Well,  since the Texas Rangers lost tonight and there will be a game #7,  I guess I'll be back tomorrow night with an update...Supplies:  All A Muse Studio - Paper:  Cherry and French Roast Shimmer, Twas the Night Before CS;  Stamps:  cool yule;  Ink:  Cherry, Wasabi;  Wasabi Ribbon, Twinkles;  CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cart
